yeast infection otherwise known as thrush is not down to bad hygiene!!! it’s proper name is candida albacus which lives harmlessly in the body. many things can cause an imbalance such as taking antibiotics, wearing tight trousers, perfumed bath products IE bath salts or highly perfumed shower gels. Also being run down or previously ill can cause the imbalance. if you use tampons then make sure it is changed every 4-6 hours.

Symptoms discharge, and very bad itching, sore tummy and generally feel tired and achy.

remedy take an anti fungal medicine such as CANESTAN you can get either a tablet, pessary and cream or just cream to stop the itch. what ever you do don’t itch as it makes the problem 10 times worse. wear only cotton knickers and keep the area clean. wear loose clothes as well until problem resolved.

if you get regular outbreaks then go to the doctors as you may need a longer course of treatment and a swab taking.

yeast infections are caused by a variety of things. The main one, at least for me, is when I take antibiotics. Because the antibiotics kill the GOOD bacteria that naturally live in the body and in the vagina, which then leaves the door wide open for yeast to overtake your crotchal [not a real word] area. Every time I am given an antibiotic, I ask for a prescription for Diflucan.

Other reasons: dietary issues, wearing the wrong type of underwear (usually cotton is best because it breathes), taking bubble baths (again, they upset the natural bacteria in your crotch), some condoms that have spermicide can cause yeast infections, not sure why.

If it’s your first time with a yeast infection, without a doubt, go to your doctor. They will do an exam, make sure its not something else (STD or otherwise), and will either give you a prescription for Diflucan, or tell you to go buy Monistat. I personally can’t use Monistat, im overly sensitive to it, and it burns when i use it. It only recently started doing that. Thank goodness for the pill then!

Yeast infection is caused by a .bacteria(candida) that lives naturally in every woman’s vagina. Almost all women suffer from it at one point in their lives. Using perfumed undies, soaps, douching etc can trigger the infection. so does eating too much carbohydrate.
