I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a car. (yes, I’ve been hit by a car before, I know what it feels like.) I discovered in the last few days that I have a male yeast infection, and after extensive research into it, trying to determine what questions I should ask my dr, I stumbled on Candida. I’ve stumbled across multiple websites all over the internets that say, buy my supplement to to rid yourself of Candida. For most people that have a disposable income, (which isn’t many in this recession) the cost of the product isn’t so prohibitive. However, I’m on a fixed income. Fixed income is the governments way of saying that we’re going to pay you less than poverty level income, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Anyways, all of these sites have a list of Candida overgrowth symptoms, etc, and it would appear that I have all of them as they apply to males. It’s difficult for me to determine if this is just all some fad or hype on the internet, because it seems the best source of information is from those people that want to sell me some obscure fix.
I remember being capable of applying my mind to a problem and being able to work through it to the end of the problem. Over the last 2 years, my mind has become quite a foggy mess, and I find it difficult to remain on task, because I forget what I was thinking about.
As there are many differences as to what the ‘best’ is, I decided to clarify what I think would be good for me as far as best.
I need a diet that is easy to follow, and is affordable on my income. I spend between -0 a month on food. I haven’t done much shopping yet for the month, but I estimate to have around remaining for the month.
I won’t buy any ’special – specific anti candida treatments’. I cannot afford to waste that money, and money back guarantees are frustrating. (odds are I’ll forget anyways.)
Since I’m often erratic in my means and methods, I intend to stock my food stores up with things that aim to be anti-candida, so no matter what I manage to grab to feed myself, will be along the lines of my end goal. (anti – candida snack foods)
I’ve taken the first step toward this goal, and I have resigned to drinking my iced tea without any sugar in it. I read somewhere that I should avoid tea for an anti candida diet. I need to know if this is something I can ignore. I drink just standard tea, orange pekoe, I brew it pretty strong, 10 small bags for about 3-8 hours per 2 quarts of water. I also brew it cold. It’s pretty much my last vice, other than smoking, and when I quit that, my tea will be my last vice.
I’m sorry the detail is lengthy, I hope it is not too redundant. Thank you to all who try to help me with this in advance.
For those of you that desire to SPAM this thread, don’t. I will not tolerate answers that are totally unrelated to my question, answers that promote some silly site where you are trying to make a buck on a referral, I want a direct, informative answer related to my question. If you can’t be bothered to READ the question, and the guidelines for answers, don’t bother answering it.

Can you cure a male yeast infection with otc creams?
can you cure a male yeast infection with otc creams?
like monistat? If a man has a yeast infection can he just put some external cream over his penis for several days and cure it? I don’t KNOW for sure I have it, my girlfriend had one and we had sex without a condom (she’s on the pill). I just found out I could have one and not know it, then we’ll pass it back and forth. can I use some cream from a monistat?
I don’t feel any different, so I’m probably not infected.
Does it make any difference if it’s circumsized? I’m circumsized, so it’s not like I have the foreskin for it to grow in.

In the last 2 days, my bf was complaining his penis was a little irritated. We didn’t think much of it because we figured it was the soap, which was a problem in the past. But just today, I come to the realization that I have a yeast infection. I bought the Monistat and used it asap. I already feel better and will continue with treatment. My question is how is a male yeast infection treated? Besides not having sex.
Any and all answers are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I am afflicted with a male yeast infection, I’ve avoided treatment simply because it seems very painful considering the area is VERY tender I was wondering how painful is treating a male yeast infection (using 1 % Clotrimazole) on a pain scale from 1-10, and possibly some suggestions of less painful treatments and PLEASE NO INSULTS it is as humiliating as it is irritating
thank you very much for replying, just wondering if it did burn afterward or maybe just a warming sensation? I don’t know but it was painful for me, but I assume that’s not the case with everyone but, since it did happen, is it normal? and also will urinating afterward lessen the effect?

Often times when talking about a yeast infection you may think that it is only something that can affect women. There is nothing different with about how a male yeast infection would come to be. What usually happens is the levels of “good bacteria” in your digestive system are lowered allowing for the Candida yeast to grow.

So what causes yeast infection in men? There are a few common things to consider such as alcohol, sexual intercourse, and even antibiotics have all been known to cause yeast infections. While antibiotics don’t actually attribute to the growth of Candida directly, there are many foods that will. In the case of antibiotics your body’s naturally defense against a yeast infection is damaged and as such infections are more common.

The reason for this is that Candida is kept in check by certain bacteria that are beneficial to your body. When an antibiotic is introduced to the system it will not distinguish between the bad kind that is making you sick, and the good kind that is preventing it. Taking an antibiotic is not going to eliminate all of the beneficial bacteria in your body of course, but it can lower them long enough for an infection to occur.

It is a lot easier than you may thing to lower the amount of these bacteria that help fight Candida yeast. For example say you have a cold and take some medicine for it, and throughout the day you may have an alcoholic beverage and maybe indulge your sweet tooth a couple times. All of these seemingly normal activities are actually encouraging the yeast to grow by giving it the fuel it needs.

You may be wondering what symptoms you could expect as a man now that we know several yeast infection causes. For men the most reported problem faced is with their digestive system. It is not uncommon for there to be a change in ones diet such as having urges to overindulge in junk food like candy, pastas, and French fries. Other digestive issues that may indicate a male yeast infection are constipation and indigestion.
There are also many symptoms that share commonalities with symptoms of other medical issues; this is why it is so important to see your doctor when you notice a problem. Symptoms such as bad breath, sexual dysfunction, mood swings and depression, as well as irritability can all be yeast infection causes.

The fact that women are much more likely to contract a yeast infection does not mean that men should live life never thinking about the possibility of getting one themselves. With the advice and information I’ve shared here today you are well on your way to understanding yeast infection causes and how it affects you.
