Impossible Candida diet! Is it a scam?
I was thinking of trying the candida diet, as i have had problems with confusion, feeling spaced out, amongst other things, and internet research led me to believe this could be the problem. I was on antibiotics at 15 for acne and at 16 was put on the pill, now been on it for 6 years.
I am vegetarian and eat a diet which includes my 5 a day, but also often pasta and potatoes. I love cereal and dairy products, and I am partial to a little bit of choccy too!!
The candida diet seems almost impossible to me, EVERYTHING I eat, even healthy living vegetable soup, milk, and bloody rise krispies have sugar! I can’t cut everything out of my diet or i’ll be very unhealthy and unhappy!!
Is this whole candida overgrowth thing a total scam? I know doctors don’t really recognise it, and most of the Anti-Candida websites just seem to be sales-driven!!
What’s your opinion?? My dad says so long as I eat a healthy varied diet I have nothing to worry about, but i was still thinking of taking acidophillus (sp?) tablets just to boost my friendly bacteria.
PS: I have been taking vegetarian multivitamins for about a month now and to be honest it’s since then that i’ve started feeling worse…

ok first of all, you need to actually determine if you have Candida issues. Because if you don’t then it could just be an imbalance or a lack of something in your diet. Have you seen a doctor and been diagnosed with this problem?
As a vegetarian your body is used to processing a lot of material so it could be your stomach bacteria is not powerful enough to deal with the amount of raw material you send to it. Try a pro biotic yogurt they help to increase the amount of natural bacteria in the stomach. When you take antibiotics also they lower your bacterial level in the stomach(no duh right?) so digestion can become a real challenge which can lead to your body passing a lot of the important nutrients it needs instead of absorbing them.
See a doctor and get the real facts but in the mean time try the yogurt, and also a good multi vitamin can help to replace the good stuff your body needs and you don’t give it due to your diet as well. not having the proper nutritional requirements can lead to the same mental effects that your describing.
