I have a yeast infection and am very allergic to monostat, is there anything else I could use for help?

I have tried the natural remedy of yogurt and had no luck. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other over the counter help???

I don’t know of any other OTC, but you can get a prescription for a pill called Diflucan. It’s a one day pill and should cure your infection within 3-5 days.

well either go to your doctor and get a prescription, or…….do it all natural by appling yogurt to your area!

Hey- i work in a chemist so felt obliged to say something. ‘Diflucan’ is quite a popular one or ‘Dizole-One’ which is the generic – as previously commented they are the single dose oral treatments & are quite effective. Canestan is probably the post popular range of cream and pessary- you can get the once, 3 day or 6 day treatments ( with or without applicator) but if your allergic to the ‘Monostat’ I’d say the active ingredients are similar. You can get a combination as well – of an oral treatment and a cream- ‘Diflucan Duo’.
If you suffer from infections on a regular basis it could possibly be as a consequence of a weak/ weakened immune system so an acidophilus supplement such as ‘Inner Health Plus’ (- you can get a dairy free one if your sensitive) is a product i would recommend as a prevention. Yoghurt wont do much other that taste great- your better off with a supplement – they have a much more concentrated dosage! The best thing to do is to probably see a doctor or a pharmacy employee- i know its embarrassing but we’re used to dealing with problems like that and are here to help! Hope your feeling better soon! – ALL of these are OTC ( in NSW) i forgot to say!

It is made by Natures Cure. It is about $22 at Walgreens. But try at you local Walmart. They would have that not as expensive.

They have one that is made by Vagistat. One applicator is going to be about $15 at Walgreens.

Also there is Yeast Guard Homeopathic Gel Treatment. You can get that also at Walgreens for about $7.

The best thing is to go to your local drug store and they will have an area for that. Then look at what may be good for you. There are multiple ones that you are about to see. Good luck!
